Adams County Broadband Action Team (BAT)
The purpose of Adams County Broadband Action Team is to actively advocate for the expansion of high-speed and accessible broadband to allow Adams County to be full participants in 21st century American life. It’s time we get Adams County connected to real, sustainable, and affordable broadband!
Who is ACBAT?
The ACBAT team includes leaders and elected officials from Adams County, Othello, Lind, Ritzville, Washtucna, Avista Utilities, Port of Othello, Washington State University, Adams County Development Council, and a cross-section of members from education, healthcare, small businesses along with local residents. Having this diverse membership ensures that ACBAT stays focused on bringing high-speed and affordable broadband to all areas in need.
We do that by:
- Communicating, advocating and raising awareness of broadband needs and solutions in our community
- Seeking and supporting funding to expand broadband; advancing legislation that supports this expansion
- Collaborating with like-minded broadband action teams across Washington state to find best ideas/solutions
- Fostering relationships with PUD and other solution providers
- Learning about and supporting the best and most effective technological solutions
- Building an internal team of county agencies, businesses, and residents who can get the job done
